Clinic Notes
Hello cooler weather! Students still need refillable water bottles every day. Please make this a priority in your home and encourage your children to drink more water!
- Flu shots are now widely available in Tallahassee. This is so important this year! Please consider flu shots for all members of your family 6 months and older. Children with health concerns, pregnant women, and older family members are especially at risk for severe symptoms of the seasonal flu.
- If your child wakes up not feeling well, please keep him/her home. As we enter the seasonal flu season, it is impossible to distinguish between COVID-19 and seasonal flu without diagnostic testing. Please understand that if your child complains of not feeling well at school, and he/she is presenting with multiple symptoms, it may be necessary for your child to have diagnostic testing before being allowed to return to school.
- If you would like your child to have access to any over-the-counter medication during the school day, please bring in a small bottle of the medication. Parents must hand the medication to Nurse Greif with the Authorization of Medication form completed. The form is available online. Prescription medications require a physician’s signature also. No student should ever have any type of medication, including vitamins, on their person during the school day. Students who self-carry meds (EpiPens, inhalers, and diabetes supplies) must have the appropriate paperwork on file in the Clinic.
Wish List: sanitizing wipes, bandaids, children’s masks, 8 oz water bottles, 3 oz cups, cheese sticks, candy for Fall Festival (no chocolate, please). Thank you!!
Kinsa FLUency Program
Trinity has again been accepted into the Kinsa FLUency Program. The Kinsa program provides parents a free thermometer and a smartphone app to help detect and respond to spreading illnesses. The program is completely voluntary, you are not required to participate. Each family may receive one thermometer. Families who enrolled last year do not qualify for an additional thermometer.
To enroll in the Kinsa program, text JOIN to 24020. Open the link to download the free Kinsa app. Finish signing up with Trinity to get the free thermometer. Check your email to confirm your free thermometer has been ordered. If you ordered a Kinsa thermometer last year, please make sure you have activated it. Kinsa has teamed up with Lysol to help stop the spread of illness in our school community. We hope many Trinity families sign up so everyone can benefit from the program.
***The current ordering window closes Sunday, October 24th. Please order your family thermometer by this Sunday.
Let me know if you have any questions or concerns. I am always happy to help. ~ Nurse Greif
